Welcome to Top Home Blood Pressure. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About This Site
Top Home Blood Pressure covers the gear and habits behind taking your blood pressure at home: upper-arm and wrist monitors, smart monitors that sync to a phone, cuff sizing, and keeping a log your doctor can actually use. Everything here is written from daily, real-world use at a kitchen table. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and your own doctor is the one who interprets your numbers.

Health and Measurement Safety
The content on this site is for general information only and is not medical advice. A home blood pressure monitor measures; it does not diagnose, treat or lower anything. Always talk with your doctor about what your readings mean, and never start, stop or change a medication because of a home reading.
If you get a very high reading, or any reading together with chest pain, shortness of breath, back pain, numbness or weakness, a change in vision, or difficulty speaking, call 911 or your local emergency number right away rather than waiting to measure again.
Accuracy depends on the cuff fitting your arm, correct positioning at heart level, sitting still and quiet, and following the manufacturer's instructions. A cuff that is too small or too large can give misleading numbers. Wrist monitors are especially sensitive to position. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to check your monitor against an office reading.
Do not use a cuff on an arm with an IV line, a dialysis fistula, a wound, or on the side of a mastectomy unless your doctor says it is fine. Stop inflating and remove the cuff if you feel numbness, tingling or pain. Keep cuffs, tubing and cords away from small children.
